The new Institute of Earth System Sciences was founded.
For many years, the previous Institutes of Soil Science, Geobotany, Geology, Mineralogy, Physical Geography and Landscape Ecology have been working together on projects in the human-nature-climate change complex.
Considering the global changes and new socio-political challenges, this successful cooperation is now to be further developed for solution-oriented research.
Therefore, a new basis for this cooperation has been created within the Institute of Earth System Sciences.
The existing institutes of Soil Science, Geobotany, Geology, Mineralogy, Physical Geography and Landscape Ecology will be united in the new institute to work towards their common goals.
This new structure will also be reflected in form of a new homepage as soon as possible.
