All heads of the working groups represented in FZ:GEO and the external cooperation partners are automatically members of the General Assembly. It elects the Executive Board and the two spokespersons. The spokespersons represent the FZ:GEO internally and externally. They are currently Prof. Dr. Monika Sester from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy and Prof. Dr. François Holtz from the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
The two spokespersons are supported by the administrative office. The office coordinates the cooperation between the parties involved and informs all persons involved in FZ:GEO about project progress and upcoming events.
The Executive Board is the decision-making body of the research center. It is made up of the two spokespersons and the representatives of the seven research fields. Project-related "task groups" are formed from the research fields, e.g. in response to a call for proposals. These are supported by the scientific coordinator and are convened and dissolved as required.
